TT lose to Italy
Another spirited performance by the Young Soca Warriors. With 16 minutes to go, they were holding the powerful Italians 1-1 and were going for the kill.
Trinidad and Tobago may be out of the FIFA Under 20 World Championships but they would have won the respect of their noted opponents, Italy, whom they gave a good scare before conceding a goal in the 74th minute to go under 2-1 at the Cairo, Egypt, stadium.
Italy were leading 1-0 at half time but the Young Soca Warriors equalized in the 69th minute after Juma Clarence outran two defenders and slotted home a a right foot shot.
The Warriors made the tactical mistake of trying to seek a winner and their open attacking game left their defence vulnerable.
They will play Paraguay in the final Group A match on Thursday.
They lost their first match 4-1 and will not progress to the second round
