UNC committee caught in the rain

The disciplinary committee was sheltering from the rain while Warner and Gypsy waited on them. The committee will have another try next week.

The hilarious United National Congress(UNC) soap opera continues.

The Basdeo Panday faction has been trying to corral the Movement For Change faction led by Jack Warner, Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj and Winston “Gypsy” Peters to bring them before a disciplinary committee to answer charges of bringing the party into dispute etc. etc.

Panday said that a meeting which was to be held at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday but started late because most members of the committee got caught in the rain. The meeting has been postponed to Thursday. Warner is threatening legal action.

Panday has announced a national congress for September 13 and Maharaj has challenged that his faction will call a similar gathering on that date.

He said the attendance will determine who has the biggest support in the party.

The Movement For Change faction struck a blow at the Panday faction last week when it unseated long standing mayor Chaguanas Mayor Suruj Rambachan. The new mayor Natasha Navas has signalled her intention to probe Rambachan’s financial dealings while in office.
