Cocaine missing at St James Police Station

Acting Police Commissioner James Philbert

Just one day after a Parliamentary Joint Select Committee severely criticised the performance of the Police Service and the Acting Police Commissioner came the news that some $1.5 million in cocaine held in storekeeping at the St James Police station has disappeared.

This time police did not blame the disappearance on greedy rodents.

Late last year some US $94,000 mysteriously disappeared from a vault at the Couva Police Station and in August an arms cache was found at the St Joseph Police Station.

All of this is happening as criminal charges against over 250 policemen are pending, crime keeps rising, over Police Commissioner after two years
