28 murders in 19 days!

The New Year has started off badly for law enforcement as criminals go on a killing spree

While the police and the Government try to convince a terrified disbelieving public that they have made inroads into crime, there were four more murders in the past 24 hours, pushing the homicide count to 28.

Twenty eight killings in the first 19 days of 2010!

One man was hacked to death today in Cocorite. A body was found in a house in 10th Street, Barataria, and there were two other murders elsewhere.

Yesterday in the space of four hours, two men were murdered in Curepe-one man was set afire in Eccles Street around 11:45 a.m and around 3:30p.m.a security guard at the Jackpot Club, in busy Curepe Junction, was shot to death during a robbery.

While murder and mayhem continues unabated, the Senate approved amendments to the Anti-Terrorism Bill this afternoon. The Opposition voted against the amendments.
