Brian McFarlane has done it again.

The National Carnival Commission (NCC) announced today that the man who has followed in Peter Minshall’s footsteps in style and substance won the 2010 large band of the year with his magnificent creation “Resurrection”. In second place was Trini Revellers’ highly impressive “Festivals of the World” while Legacy’s “Massala” was third.

McFarlane has now won the band of the year title for four straight years.

Ronnie and Caro won in the medium band category and Tribal Connection in the small band competition.

As expected, Palance composed by Kernel Roberts and sung by J.W. and Blaze ran away with the road march prize.

McFarlane was the last band to cross the Savannah stage, leaving there around 9:30p.m. as he stunned the audience with a presentation that traced the country’s carnivals from 1890 to the present.
