Calypso Fiesta Saturday
Reigning calypso king Chalkdust
Calypso Fiesta , traditionally, one of the Carnival season’s major shows , will be held at Skinner Park on Saturday with some 35 calypsonians competing for a spot in the Dimanche Gras finals.
Father and daughter performers Llewellyn “Shortpants” McIntosh and Heather McIntosh will be in the fray joining oldstagers such as Brother Valentino, Gypsy, Sugar Aloes and Singing Sandra.
Sugar Aloes, Singing Sandra and Gypsy are former monarchs.
Missing from the line-up are Shadow and Cro Cro.
Chalkdust will be defending his crown at the Dimanche Gras show on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
