Phase Two Pan Groove stole a march on defending champions PCS Silver Stars amassing some 277 points while the Tragarete Road band were awarded 273 points by the judges when the National Panorama Semi-finals ended around 2. a.m. today-17 hours after the competition started at the Queen’s Park Savannah under sunny skies.

Phase Two, led by the legendary Boogsie Sharpe stunned the audience with their tune of choice Pan Army while Silver Stars played Battle Zone.

TCL Skiffle Bunch, from Coffee Street, San Fernando were third with 272 points. They played Pan on Fire.

In the medium bands category Steel Xplosion led the way with Radica getting 270 points and in the small bands category Laventille Serenaders were adjudged the best playing band with 267 points. Their tune of choice was This Melody Sweet.

Former champions Exodus were knocked out of the competition.
